Reflexology

This complementary therapy was used as early as 2330BC within the Egyptian culture. It treats the mind, body and spirit to maintain a balance and promote the body's natural ability to heal.

Reflex areas on the feet and hands are linked to all of the glands, areas and organs of the body. The therapist applies pressure to the feet (the application and effect of the therapy is unique to each client) and can detect subtle changes. Working on these areas benefit the corresponding organ or body system.

Reiki

This holistic healing therapy is a Japanese technique in which hands are placed over the client's body to help treat body, emotions, mind and spirit.

We all have a "life force energy" flowing through us. If this energy is low we are susceptible to stress and illness. If it is high, we are more likely to be happy and healthy.

Reiki harmonises and channels this energy, helping to heal and de-stress the whole body.

Hopi Ear Candling (Thermo Auricular Therapy)

Candles were originally used by the Ancient Greeks and the Egyptians to treat ear and head problems.

Hopi candles are named after the Hopi (peaceful) people, the Native American tribe whose tradition of ear candling has been handed down through the centuries. The candles were believed to have spiritual properties and, in addition to their therapeutic uses, were used as part of Hopi ceremonies and rituals.

The candles are traditionally made from flax, beeswax, honey and herbs such as sage, St Johns wort, camomile and pure essential oils. When lit they also offer the benefits of aromatherapy.

The candle is placed in the ear and lit, causing a light suction, or chimney effect, drawing out impurities that are burnt away. The flame's movement creates a gentle vibration and massage-like effect on the eardrum. This action helps to balance the pressure system within the head. The procedure is repeated on the other ear and a face and scalp massage completes the treatment. The whole procedure is incredibly relaxing and spiritually warming.

Hopi Ear candles may be beneficial for headaches, excess ear wax, sinusitis, snoring, tinnitus, stress and nervousness. Some impurities may be released up to 48 hours after the treatment.
